    The motherboards aren't great, but get the AMD system, it's much faster.

    AMDs are far more powerful 'per mhz' than the Intel Pentium Ds.
    Intel's core 2 duos are even more powerful than the AMDs, but since the CPU in that PC is a Pentium D, it's pretty slow.
    A 2.2Ghz Athlon64 X2 works out about similar to a 3.6Ghz Pentium D. Since the D is only the 2.8Ghz model, the AMD is faster.

    Agreed, Foxconn motherboards aren't that great, hence why it's so cheap.

    Thanks guys, im not going to bother with either of those now, ive been warned against buying bundles off ebay. i was directed to ebuyer where i found these;

    http://orders.ebuyer.com/customer/shopping/index.html?action=c2hvd2NhcnQ=

    Look a bit better? so is it 2x 2.3ghz or 2x 4400+ or both? Is it all compatable?
    Basically ive just started getting into gaming on the pc and i want to play games like bioshock, and halo3 when it eventually comes out on pc! But also want a newer pc that isnt going to be out dated in 6 months! Im planning on getting more ram but this is the most i can splash out at the moment.
    I currently have a AMD Athlon XP 2200+, 512mb ram and a really crap motherboard.
    Thanks again

    Ebuyer shopping carts are account specific, we'd need to login as you to see them. Post the individual links.

    Yeah, they should work fine.
    The 4400+ is roughly equivalent to an Intel core 2 Duo E6300. it is faster than any Pentium D.

    Nope, no matter how many cores you have, it's still 2.3Ghz. The difference is that you can run two programs and they can both have 100% of 2.3Ghz. With programs that support dual cores, it can seem like 2x2.3Ghz, but for the majority of programs, you'll see little difference between a single core and a dual core. The advantage comes in that your PC still runs perfectly while you're using a program that has high CPU usage.
