for a laptop, the ventilation on mine is very bad and it heats up very quickly, and im guessing either the stuff is too close and doesnt have enough space in between or the fans not good. so im wondering how to change the fan on a laptop, and how would i know which one to get?

get a can of air to cleanout the fans & vents. can also get a laptop chiller to cool down the laptop. looks like a tray that the laptop sits on & has fans blowing air at the laptop's bottom to cool it.

what laptop do you have? some are well known for "overheating". also ddp's suggestion of cleaining the vents is good but if this has never been done before then it could make the problem worse. most laptops have a squirrel type fan on the cpu. this can become clogged easily with dust over time and no maintenance. I had to pull a dell apart to clean out all the dust. If it's a dell and have experience on working on desktop hardware dell has blown up diagrams of their laptops. Be advised if it's under warranty don't do this yourself as it voids the warranty.
