    Hi,

I am completely new to all of this.

Firstly I would like know which is the best Dream box model to buy so I can watch the UK Terrestrial channels like the Freeview Set Top Boxes - I have not got Sky or Cable.

Are Dream boxes the best ones to have if you only want to watch TV and have no knowledge in Unix?. I am a techy so would like to purchase a good box if it takes more learning!!

When using the Dream box - am I able to view channels like Top Up Tv, Setanta and TV X with the correct install package / keys etc?? If this is so - where install / keys for the UK and for Terrestrial Dream boxes? Are they automically updates so I don't have to keep updating the packages / keys or is this a must??

I hope you can help me,

    Sorry about the length!

    Banging

You will need a basic package from your provider in order to use these type of boxes :)

It makes no sense to use a dreambox T model for UK freeview.
The onliest live channel left over from Topup TV and Setanta are using a not hacked seca2 version for scrambling.

The idea was to replace my old set top box which is now on its last legs. So if I got this box I could watch the channels I have now and Top Up Tv and Setanta?? The issue is that I don't even know if this is possible or if the Dream box can descramble these channels.?

If you own a valid subscriber card than yes.
    Not hacked means not hacked.
For the free channels there are much more cheaper boxes on the market.

The idea was not to subcribe to anything and recieve Top Up TV and Setanta. I was trying to find out if a Dream Box would decrypt these channels without paying the subscription fee??

There is no voodoo inside the boxes.
Someone has to crack a scrambling system and create the right software.
The scrambling system for Topup tv and setanta via freeview is not cracked.
