I have followed all the rules for copying games as sticky posted but everytime they don't work. They just don't launch (or ask for cd)

My latest attempt is Broken Sword SD, I used the latest version of Clone CD this time (as opposed to the longer route of using Alcohol, alcoholer etc) But it doesn't run.

I read that it can be done with my one sheep burner LG CD-RW CED-8083b but I have not once copied a game and got it working.

It's always a case where the game copies and installs fine but the game will not launch. Even though I have followed the instructions exactly.

I presume I must buy a new CD writer.

    1. What is the protection on it? (specific version)
    2. I would reccommend you buy a new burner anyways :)
    3. You mean the very latest Slysoft CloneCD or the very latest Elby CloneCD?_X_X_X_X_X_[small]ASUS A7V8X-X, AMD2500+

It's the version of Clone CD that shoey posted a link for a week or two ago.

Clony said it couldn't detect the protection. I imagine it's a tough one to copy.

But like you said I really think I need to get a new burner, seeing as all my attempts have failed. What burner would you recommend?

Odds are your ASPI isnt installed correctly. For more information regarding ASPI see http://cd-rw.org/articles/archive/aspisetup.cfm

    I would reccommend the ASUS522452.

    aspichk says...

'ASPI is Properly installed and is fully operational, a total of three host adapters has been detected'.

Version 4.60 (1021) on all components.

    Yes,

    winaspi32.dll
    aspi32.sys
    winaspi.dll
    wowpost.dll

are all there, I think the 3 adapters means my cd rom, cd writer and one virtual drive.

    Oh right... silly me. :S

Try this... if that doesnt work... then get a new burner. :) I find the Alcohol method is much more reliable than CloneCD
