Please help.... Using DvDx 2.10 to convert DVD files to DivX file but unable to retain AC3 sound. The output sound format offered is either Wave or MP3. What plug-ins do i need to have AC3 audio in the final DivX file??
Thankyou.

I never user DvDx; I tried AutoGK http://www.autogk.me.uk/ (open source, too) and I never went further since it was perfect, so I cannot do anything else than suggesting you to use this aplication.

Thank you to Aldaco12 and ugc for their helpful suggestions. The reason i use DvDx is because the conversion process is fairly quick, ie about 45 mins to convert a standard DVD movie to DivX file. However i wonder if the speed advantage is to the detriment of the quality of the output DiVX file. I have an older tv and the differences in quality with using other converting applications are not evident visually to me on it.I have used DrDivx as well as Fairuse wizard2. These applications are a little bit slower but again no AC3 audio in the final Divx file.

Nevertheless i will give autogk and avi.net a go as suggested by yourselves. Thanks.

USe AutoGK,use AutoGK and for the third time use Auto GK. Encoding will be longer than 45 mins but have AC3 in an AVi is worth it. you can also choose either Dolby 5.1 or DTS. ANd you get a better quality movie using the Xvid codec. USE AUTOGK.
