Go to parental control in receiver menu

    press ( i or info button) + (2007)

key and emu buttons should now be visible
switch key emu to on position
go to scrambled channel and wait for update .

Have you made sure your loop through cable is plugged into cable tuner 1 output and then to cable tuner 2 input.

These are just firmware issues that need to be resolved. What side of the TV does the red dot come up on when recording?

    Hi
You should be able to record two channels at once and still move channels with the remote control, but you need a short cable between tuner one output and tuner two input like sc0user said. Whilst recording you should also be able to bring up info at top of screen about what is being recorded by pressing the info button on the remote. Tuner one will show at top right what is being recorded and tuner two will show at top left. The hdd button does not opperate while recoring is ongoing, nor the epg button. I am using version 4.5 - 6th July and it is working great.

DOnt know if this is a daft question or not.

But is there any types of specifications hard drive i buy must have to be compatible with box, i.e IDE or SATA etc.

Seen a couple of external HD's but dont want to rush out buy one and dont work because need to have a certain thing.

    Hi
Can't use an internal or external hard drive with standard The Box.
You don't say if you have The Box PVR or standard The Box. If PVR you need an(Internal)IDE type (7200rpm) to fit onto the IDE ribbon connecter inside The Box PVR. There is also a standard power connector inside the box (PC Type)and a standard fitting bracket to take the drive. When fitted format it by going to Menu/HDD Interface/Format. jbvid

    Hi
Not sure about external drive through usb but would be a good alternative if it would work. Think it would need firmware mod.

    @speedy14
    Hi
You will find it is very easy.First disconnect power lead and remove top case, 2 screws at side and 1 at rear.
Then remove the hard drive frame from inside the box. Make sure your H/D has its jumper pin set to master and fit it into the hard drive frame with 4 short screws. Fit the assembly back into the box and connect up the 40 pin IDE cable and power cable (already loose inside the box). Refit top case. Connect everything up and start the box. Press Menu on remote then down to HDD Interface then Format, and wait until formattted, Thats it.

Thank you for the advice of the loop which has solved so much for me but not all, but im taking wild guess could still be a firmware issue maybe?

I know can record and watch certain channels, like i tried recording Sky sports 2 but cant watch any other premium like sky sports 1, setanta 1 channels but i can watch free to air channels like e4 itv etc while recording.

Although going to leave it the now and try again after work tomorrow. Getting a little more every little time i try something else lol.

But just to mainly say thanks as wouldve been there for weeks without adding cable between output 1 and input 2.
