projectors

    are projectors any good for watching tv or playing games?? pretty much everybody i know has a tv and not a projector. why is that? simply put, whats the pros and cons of a projector?

    One reason you dont see everyone going this rout is because you will need a very dark room as any other light will degrade the picture. Another reason is that 1080p projectors cost a lot right now but that will change in the next couple of years. Projectors are also a bit harder to set up
    because you have to take room dimension and viewing distance in consideration more than with a tv. Personally when my 52inch lcd projection dies I'm going with a projector and a smaller lcd for normal daytime viewing. 100 inch plus screen would be awesome in high-def.

    whats good about projectors though? is it that you have just move it back to make the screen bigger?

    Ive got a really good projector but like post above, you need a dark room, if any light comes into the room you can barely see it

    i am looking into getting a projector and i heard that light really doesnt matter as much as the lumen rating. I heard that the higher the lumens the better the quality in light. does this hold any truth? also how does a 1080p projector stack up against a 1080p tv? thanks in advance.
