I found this suggestion on another website and it worked wonders at work.

On your desktop go to control panel/printers and right click on the printer you wish to share.go to sharing and make sure that share is checked and that there is a share name there. If not, name it something meaningful and short,no spaces.
Co to control panel/system and note the computer name you have assigned to this pc.Note the computer description but the full computer name

    Then,on the laptop
start/run and type in \\computername(from above).A window should appear which shows the newly shared printer name. Double click it and you will be prompted to create a connection to that printer.

But when I tried it at home, it gives me this screen...

The PC at home does not have a password protected account, so I don't know what that is asking for. I have tried what I thought it might be, but no dice. It looked like my .net passport thing, but that didn;t work either.

Please advise. Thank you in advance for the help.

You've tried the usual combos (Admin/password, Admin/Admin, etc)?

There's no admin. There's just one account on the PC. And I did try the computer name with my usual passwords, but not computername/computernanme. I'll try that as soon as I get home.
