I've been using MPC for a few years now and I've never had any problems with it until a few months ago. After I updated MPC a few months ago (through getting the CCCP update) everything ran smoothly as usual, but out of the blue, it started acting up. Now it takes anywhere from 10-20+ minutes just to load a .mkv file! Even ordinary .avi files take at least 2-5 minutes to load up. That's absolutely ridiculous! Here's the thing though... It only does this with the first file I open using MPC after my computer has been booted up; all subsequent files load up normally if I can get the first file opened without MPC completely freezing up.

Example: Load up .mkv File A. It takes 10-20+ minutes to load. Once loaded, if I open .mkv File B, it opens almost immediately. Ditto for File C, D, etc. If I reboot and load .mkv File Z, then there's another 10-20+ minute delay again.

The files themselves are not at fault since they play perfectly fine on my other computer using MPC. I have no idea why this has happened and any help towards solving this problem would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time. ^_^
