I have a general understanding of different hook-ups for monitors and TVs. I'm currently using my new 27' LCD as a PC monitor just looked way better and all that good stuff. I originally had it hooked via VGA and everything looked nice and sharp and no image issues besides it couldn't give any higher then 1024 x 768 without a loss in quality. So i decided to go to digital with a DVI to HDMI (only 3 meters long) {as the TV has 3 ports on it for HDMI}.

Ever since i hooked it up i run at 1280 x 720(P), but the reds seem to be a bit more blurry and the greens are a bit more intense {BTW im using a Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT) The graphics are set at the default, with "no" gamma increase or color intensity. Is this supposed to happen or do i need some drivers (i have updated them within the last few days and i will check again this weekend) or could it be a bad cable?

I'm never had anything in HD before and i assumed things were more clearer if i had a digital signal (and that only HD quality was possible with either a HDMI or DVI cables)instead of a analog as with the VGA, if im wrong could someone please feed me the right info, because honestly my picture was way better with the vga cable. Plus I've seen a flash or distortion in the image across the screen of a red flash only last less then a sec but I've seen it multiple times.

P.S. I had my VGA cable hooked to the back of the GPU to the DVI port with the adapter that came with it but still had it plugged in the VGA port on the TV (does this convert it to digital format as well or just an enhanced vga signal?)

I had recently upgraded my video card to dvi output so i had a dvi to hdmi cable, hdmi going directly to my lcd. In my case the video is alot better than the vga. Colors are more vibrant and video is alot sharper. The only problem im having is the audio. How did you get it to work since the dvi output does not carry audio. Ive tried using a y cable from 3.5mm to rca since the hdmi input from the lcd does include a audio L and R. But ive tried connecting it and it just wont work. Any feedbacks?

Sorry it took me so long to respond......

To follow-up my issue, it was just a faulty cable. To help ya out dude, I got a Hi-Def Audio output jack {Its Coaxial} on my built-in sound card, and I run that directly into my 700Watt Theater System with 6.1 Audio setup. For under $100 you can definitely get a decent Sound card, I wish I had the Optical Audio output instead since my sound system has multiple Optical inputs..... Good luck with that sound set-up an again sorry I didn't get back sooner, Been busy with school at night time and work during the day...later

P.S. The Audio cables are both under $30/each if ya shop around, I just pick up mine off of Newegg for the Optical {10Ft.} and stopped at Best-Buy for the Coaxial {12Ft.} …‡…Good…Luck…‡…
