yeah the audio would be NO better just the picture quality

HD/Blu-Ray is about the better video quailty not the audio

Completely wrong.
HD and BR use HD audio as well. True HD,
DTS -MA, DD+ are some of the new HD codecs for audio, and are night and day difference vs DTS or DD5.1.
There is also room for PCM tracks on HD/BR which are completely lossless.
