I have recently run out of CD-R's, and I'm looking to pick-up some more.
My local CircuitCity will be having a sale starting next week, 100 pilips brand CD-R's for $9.99
This deal sounds very tempting to me, I've googled around trying to find out how good they are. But, I'm hearing conflicting views.
Some say they are top brand name CD's, after they switched from CMAG's. While others just claim that they are junk :-/
I was hoping someone could shed some light on the quality of the CD-R's for me. :)

I don't think CMC CDR media is that bad. The CMC discs I burned 4 & 5 years ago still play. However I don't buy CMC manufactured discs anymore as I prefer Ritek, Prodisc or TY.

I was going to grab a few of these but was busy with work throughout the week. Most cheaper discs work fine for me with the exception of Nexxtech, which I burn at 20X without any issues. Is CMC still considered subpar or do alot of people just stick with the name-brands?

Alright thanks for the opinion ... I'll probably stay away from Philips brand CDs until they get a new manufacturer.

Last set of Philips i had checked as CMC's
I've simply stayed away from Philips since then. Better safe than screwed as my dad used to say.

I've never used Phillips CD's so I have no opinion on them.
