I am a real newbie to video. I have more than adequate hardware and access to most software.
Is there a guide anywhere to burn home movies to
dvd-r? I have been able to back-up dvd movies no
problem.I would like to put 1-1/2 to 2 hours of
home movies to dvd-r. Please point me in right direction.

what format are your home movies: vhs, minidv, digital*. The answer will depend upon that. You may need a video capture device if the movies aren't already digital.

Check out the digital camcorder forum or the video capturing from analog sources forum here in afterdawn.

I have a sony minidv, use firewire, and pinnacle studio 8

    Do you like pinnacle 8?
Can u fit entire 2 hr video on dvd-r?
I can capture as avi in pinnacle but I only tried
trial and that's as far as I can go. If pinnacle 8
is good, I'll get full version
