ok, so im fairly into the whole Half Life 2 thing. but atm its givin me the S!@ts!!! i bought the orange box today. pre-ordered myself a copy of it. so today i try to install it, and steam has a hissy fit. so i have to re-install it. get that done, and then i try to install that games and it does nothing. shutdown comp, and start again... finally some progress, steam shows me what games i have :O none of them are installed. so i click on Episode 2 and it begins to install. HURRAH! i hear u say.... no it begins to download it ANGST!!! i have 2 disks. clearly with all the games on it. if anyone can help me with this i would greatly appreciate it, and quite possibly pass out with joy. if this doesnt work for me, i dunno what ill do. thanks in advance anyone. P.s im a first time user of steam
I'm pretty sure it auto-updates games, just give it time and try again later. Their servers get hammered sometimes. Did you try to start the game while it's downloading? Check the box that says to start the game when the download finishes. Don't worry, you're not the only person that's had problems with Steam.
well if you have the disk, then just log on to steam and insert disk and install the games. that should install teh games w/o having to DL anything besides updates
