Try using the free burning app IMGBurn to burn your DL discs - it handles the layer break better and is superior to Nero in this respect. Use this guide to help you out: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_imgburn.cfm
also make sure you have the most up to date firmware for the drive , check here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php using Verbatim DVD+R DL disc are the best too
It is up-to-date, I checked. And yes, if all else fails, then use Verb DL discs as they've rpoved to be the best ones available.
It is recommended to have a minimum of 512mb RAM to successfully burn DVD's so I would recommend you add a further 256mb......your current 222 is way below the recommended minimum.
those are all great suggestions. thanks. i ordered a 512 chip couple days ago so that should help. know verbatim is best but best buy suckered me into buying memorex on sale. meanwhile, there doesn't appear to be any problem re the interaction bw burner and machine? i think my burner has the latest firmware.
btw, i should probably post in another forum, but does anyone know why dvd decryptor sometimes fails during decryption on some discs? there's absolutely nothing wrong with the disk but it just won't decrypt certain files.
yeah Its the newer protection. dvd decrypter hasn't been and won't be updated in years so it can't handle the newer titles without help. if you need advice on that shoot back, you have two rippers that update now a days anydvd and dvd fab decrypter, both work well BTW the memorex DVD+R DL will code out as Ritek which is ok media but not as good as the Verbatims
