Is there a way to update only the audio and video codecs for XBMC? I want to be able to add/update codecs as they become available without having to update the entire XBMC installation. My box works great as it is and I would rather be safe than have any headaches with a bad upgrade.
You can always roll back if the upgrade isn't to your liking! I'm sure you can just get the files for the codecs, they be on the Soundforge site, however, knowing whch ones do what... The builds are pretty solid!
I.ve been looking into it more lately. The thing is that I think the Xbox won't be able to handle the codecs I would want to add. I was looking to get better HD support as far as movies. I see that there probably isn't enough horsepower in the Xbox itself to actually render a high def film. I will be testing it out in the next day or so. I was also looking at UPnP streaming from my computer but I don't think that will work either. Is the list of supported codecs updated with the T3CH updates? I see that the newest version has "mplayer codec" updates but the specifics aren't listed. Maybe I am reading the Readme incorrectly?
The "List" hasn't been updated in quite a while, but I assure you that they are up to date! I have successfully streamed 720p to my XBMC. I am looking into adding more memory to the Xbox to try the higher 1080i stuff...
Awesome. I updated to the newest T3CH..the 10-28-07 version. Everything works great and I am hoping to test the 720p capabilities this evening. I've heard that a memory upgrade to the Xbox is no simple task...good luck to you.
