Hey all....I'm having a lil trouble. My computer seems it doesn't want to play nice anymore and won't start up. It gets as far as the windows logo loading screen and then restarts and continues to do this and will not actually start windows up. This happened about 1 month ago. Since then i havn't tried to start it up again until today. It loaded windows however when i restarted the computer i got the same problem as before. If anyone can help please let me know. It will not start up in safe mode or any other mode.
Try booting in Safe Mode, and see if you can get in. If you can, go back to a previous restore point, if there are any.
coolfire, do you get a menu saying safemode, normal mode & other modes including last known working configuration? if so then try last known working configuration.
Hey guys thanks for your suggestions. I have tried everything and even going back to a restore point but still no luck. Im starting to think its more of a hardware problem as apposed to a software problem. Any other ideas.
Were you able to get into Windows in Safe Mode? Do you have an external hard drive or DVD burner plugged into a USB port? What hardware do you think may be a problem?
try each ram stick 1 at a time if have more then 1 & also try different ram slots. ran across that before as 1 bad stick of ram out of 2.
i also had that problem coolfire, where it just keeps restarting itself at the windows loading screen. i never really got it fixed, i just reformatted it and reinstalled the OS.
Did you you do any partitioning/restoration on your computer? If your using windows xp/w2k/server 2003 what you describe sounds like a drive letter change problem. Download the demo of "paragon justboot corrector" burn the image to a cd and use that to bootup your computer. Your system drive needs to be drive letter c: . What seems to happening is your registry is looking for the next startup files in the wrong drive. This problem happen to me before on windows xp, but I was moving a system partition from one drive to another, but I got it fix by just changing the drive letter back to c: . If it's a drive letter problem it's a 5 minute fix if you have the right utility. http://www.justboot.us/boot_corrector.htm
I've had the same problem for like the past year. What I did back then is spend a freaken $100+ to get it fixed to some guys and they say that the video card is "pixelating" and that I need to change the video card and so I spend a further $200+ to get a new video card. Two months later, went to a different shop to get it fixed and they said the same thing and so i spent the same amount again. And now, with a brand new video card, it's still stuffed up. Anyways, back to the topic. coolfire, have you fixed the problem yet? I would very much like to know how to fix this as well lol I can't get into to safe mode because it freezes in safe mode and i don't have any restore point. I've also just recently reformatted the hard drive and it still won't work. I had to kick it, literally, so that i'll get to see the desktop. It did work at certain times lol =)
