I was wondering if you can give me some suggestions about cd burners. I have this Sony CD-RW CRX210E1 / 10 48X12X48 IDE BULK and I burn 100 minute cd-r's, but I can only burn them at a speed of 16 because the Nero program I use gives a warning that I might damage the drive if I burn at a higher speed. Also the program does not recognize the 100 min. cd and I have to say ok to overburn after which I can actually burn the cd. I am looking for for a new cd burner that can burn 100 minute cdr's at higher speed (48 or 52). I hope this makes sense. Your help is greatly appreciated. Allan
Where did you get 100Min cds? Or are you just rounding 99Min cds? In any case when you are burning that much, realize that it becomes imperative that you burn SLOWER... not faster. I get these in Holland and the brand is Prodye. I have only burned at 16x but started to go to 40x without any problems other then sometimes if I have anything over 98 minutes then I have failed burnings.
1. Not all burners can handle that capacity 2. You wont find any cd media that can handle 90+ miutes at those speeds.
Thank you for your help. I might be buying a new burner so I can burn 80 minute cdr's at 52 for mine only goes to 48x. I am thinking Plextor.
DUDE! Why on earth would you want to burn so goddamn fast? Ive got an ASUS 522452 (which i reccomend), and dont ever burn more than 24x. You DO realize the faster you burn the more unreliable the disc is right? In any case, 52x discs require a different level of specification. Not just standard 48x discs.
To be honest I have been doing this for a year and I still am learning. The reason I use higher speeds is that I make these sets that I sell on ebay and if I used the slower speeds I would be here forever making the sets.To make 6 of my sets it already takes 8 to 9 hours,so if I used a slower speed I would never get anything done. and no I have had nobody tell me there are problems with them so far and I been selling them for a year.
Up to 680MB on a 700-disc you can probably get away with burning 52x but anything beyond that or any 'fancy' discs... bad idea. You'll prolly get lucky but you can never be sure then.
Hi, this isnt exactly the same topic but was as close as I could find!! Ive just downloaded some films and converted them to mpeg to make vcd from. The film is in 2 parts, 1 at 90 mins exactly and 1 at about 82. Will i be able to burn the 1st part safely on a 90 min CD-R? Was just worried cos I know other file are put on the disk and didnt know if this affected it. Or do you think I should join the 2 again and split more evenly? Thanks for any help
