How do you use cheats in xsnes9x?

I want to use some cheats (like infinite money) that aren't too bad to help speed up the process of playing some games.

I have some questions:
1. What is the simplest way to use cheats with xsnes9x?
You enter them in yourself

2. Is there a way to add descriptors to the cheats?

3. What format of cheats does xsnes9x use?
game genie or action replay

4. Is this post from another forum right?
1) Run your ROMs through a renaming tool to conform to FATX limitations. (I use Magic File Renamer)

2) Use Snes9X for PC to create your cheat files (.CHT) with codes and descriptions.

3) Run your .CHT files through the same renaming tool with the exact same settings that you used for your ROMs.

4) Copy your renamed cheat files to the \TDATA\0fffdaed\ directory on your XBOX.

Voila! Cheats come up with descriptions!
