Best format and DVD Media for an older Apex DVD player? In other words is there a DVD format that works universally in most Apex players. Thanks for any help.

I got an old Apex and it plays anything with no problems either + or -, but I find Verbatim to be the best for it.

thanks, I have tried various brands, but not Verbatim. Is it the - or + that is the most important?

If you want the most compatible then use the -R format, otherwise you need to booktype the +R to DVD-Rom if you burner is capable of doing so. I have one older NEC burner that does not booktype so I just use the -R Verbs with no problems.

Thanks arnie, That makes sense now that I think about it. I had made a DVD-R and it played on it and then I tried to use a DVD-RW and it would not play.
