I am having trouble getting the right resolution with my LCD monitor using Windows Vista.
First, I have two nVidia GeForce 8500 SLI cards and a 17 inch Dell LCD monitor. I just finished installing the video drivers from the CD. NOW, my native resolution SHOULD BE 1280 x 1024 and it was this way BEFORE I installed the video drivers. AFTER I installed the drivers, I am only able to get a measly 1024 x 768. I tried adjusting the refresh rates to no avail.

    PLEASE HELP.

    Thanks In Advance.

    Been there, done that.

Perhaps I should wait till Vista SP1 is released...

I am having this exact same problem. My native resolution is 1600x1200 and it thinks it is 1280x1024. I have two GeForce 7800 GTXs in SLI and, just like you, after I installed the newest drivers, happened. Anyone have any ideas?

There is an option in most graphics control panels that picks up the available resolutions list off the monitor. Sometimes the highest one can get missed off. My old CRT would only let windows go to 1920x1440 instead of 2048x1536 (diddums, lol) until I disabled the check for this in my graphics control panel. I believe it's called something like ESID data.
