I have some old but favorite videos I want to put onto DVD. The videos are copyright blocked. Can anyone tell me how to do this. I have a video/dvdburner machine and a computer with a dvd burner. Can you tell me what 'type' of assessories I need and give me blow by blow instructions - I am not technologically literate. Thanks
Are you saying you want to copy VHS tapes into a standalone DVD recorder? If so, not all movie tapes have Macrovision protection. The ones that do, require that you connect the (yellow) video (not the audio) through a so called 'Optimizer' or 'Video stabilizer'. These stabilizers, typically made by 'Optex' and sold through Radio Shack were popular in the eighties and early nineties - someone you know has one gathering dust. I use a fifteen year old optex between the VCR and my DVDR It runs on a nine volt battery. They are still available on eBay.
