I have The Box-T on order.
Im still looking for a mmds ariel to work with it. A work mate was asking me which type do I need to work with it.I didnt relise there was differant types .
He has an "Analogue" one. Will that work or do i need the "Digital" version of the ariel.
Also I have a dvb-t in my LCD TV.
In theory can I pick up Ch***s with that(once I have the ariel) but it won`t unscramble it.?
Can someone let me know what exactly I need ariel wise please.

There is no difference between a aerial for analogue mmds or digital mmds.
At very old analogue installations there was a downconverter used which convert into the UHF range.

    Thanks mgb17 for the info.
Should I be looking for anything when I get the ariel from him.I read about "Downconverters". How would I know if one of these is with it or anthing else, or is it needed with the Box-T?

You need an power inserter for the downconverter.
Newer chorus mmds aerials have the downconverter built in into the feed arm.
Older ones have a extra unit which must be fitted behind or below the antenna.

Thanks for the info. I will pass it on to my friend and check are the ariels ok.
There still doesnt seem to be any news on the The Box-T yet coming out. I will ask him to fit it anyway and wait for the box to come out.
I will check and see will the dvb tuner in my tv work with it while Im waiting on the The Box-T to come.
Once again thanks for your help.

The dvb-t receiver in your lcd should work if there is a manual scan option.
If you use the right ci modul you don't need a extra box.

    Thanks mgb17.
The TV I have is a Sharp Aquos LC-42XD1E. The digital tuner included is a DVB-T(2k/8K OFDM). Common Interface - EN50221, R206001
I can do a manual scan.
I was checking the info on the C/I module but it would not show any info on it until I found some channels.? Also there is a card slot on the side of the TV also.?
Once I get the ariel I will try it with the TV first. If it does work I might be able to cancel the box.

The slot is for a common interface (CI) modul.
You need a special one for cracking the channels.

    Thanks for that.
My friend is checking the ariels he has. He has all the parts but he must check are they working.
And from what I here the The Box-T are arriving to suppliers on Friday and will be shipped on Sat or Mon.
Regarding the TV tuner I might just check out of curiosity to see what I can pick up.
