Hardrive And Windwos Xp Home

    I'm Trying To Install Windows Xp Home On My Maxtor 80 Gigs and When It Reboots It Gives Me A "Error Loading Operating System" I Formated It Any Help.??

    Did it boot up the first time after you installed XP and then failed to reboot on a subsequent boot?

    If Ur talking bout When Its Done Copying Files The Reboots In 15 Seconds
    yea it says error loading operating system

    what i would do?

    use harddrive setup disk (maxblast4) and do a complete format not the quick one

    then try loading OS

    ok i tried the complete format like you said and it did the same thing

    may be the os have problem
    hd format to ntfs
    if u have copy of operating system mey be not all the files copied

    i tried 2 copy's of xp

    its the first time it ever done this i have installed one of the xp of the hd and now that i want to install it again it don't work

    Maybe the hard drive is bad. Why did you have to install the OS again?

    i took it off and used it as a slave then my main hd burned and i want to use the other one

    My advice is to download the demo of "paragon justboot corrector", burn the iso to a cd, and use the cd to bootup the computer. Now look at your system drive and verify that it has the correct drive letter. It should be c: drive. With windows xp, the drive letter has been known to get changed around causing the drive not to bootup.
