Hello, i'm new to AMD overclocking, so please help me out here...

    My Specs..
    MSI K9N4 SLI...mobo
    AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800...cpu
    2GB DDR2667...Ram
    300 GB...HardDrive
    7950 GTOC..gfx card

Ok, so I got a AMD athlon x2 3800 today, i tried to overclock it with MSI K9N4 SLI and i could only get it upto 2.2 GHz (220 fsb). If i even change it by a couple more it will crash me and says "OC config failed".

Here are the options i see in bios...
    FSB multiplier...X10
    CPU Voltage...1.264 V
    Cool n Quiet...Disabled
    Adjust Extra CPu Voltage...Default
    CPU Frequency...220
    CPU Dynamic overclocking...Disabled
Cpu Frequency Config(options in this below)
    -CPU Voltage
    -CPU Ratio (Multiplier)

I have also tried lowering the memory fsb.
Please let me know what should i do or what am i doing wrong. And i really want to Overclock this atleast upto 2.5 GHz. Thanks.

No, I meant do you have a aftermarket cooler, other than the stock fan and heatsink that came with the processor?
