Hello, i'm new to AMD overclocking, so please help me out here... My Specs.. MSI K9N4 SLI...mobo AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800...cpu 2GB DDR2667...Ram 300 GB...HardDrive 7950 GTOC..gfx card Ok, so I got a AMD athlon x2 3800 today, i tried to overclock it with MSI K9N4 SLI and i could only get it upto 2.2 GHz (220 fsb). If i even change it by a couple more it will crash me and says "OC config failed". Here are the options i see in bios... FSB multiplier...X10 CPU Voltage...1.264 V Cool n Quiet...Disabled Adjust Extra CPu Voltage...Default CPU Frequency...220 CPU Dynamic overclocking...Disabled Cpu Frequency Config(options in this below) -CPU Voltage -CPU Ratio (Multiplier) I have also tried lowering the memory fsb. Please let me know what should i do or what am i doing wrong. And i really want to Overclock this atleast upto 2.5 GHz. Thanks.
amds dont over clock as well as c2ds so i dont think you will get very far. do you have any after market cooling?
No, I meant do you have a aftermarket cooler, other than the stock fan and heatsink that came with the processor?
