Windows XP Pro Key HELP

    Hey guys...

    Ive looked through many threads here but havent found my answer yet:
    My home computer crashed. I had Windows XP PRO on it, so wheni tried to reinstalled it from the original XP PRO disk , i now have to enter the key code.
    Bad news is, i have not found the original case.

    Can anyone help me with this please!?
    If it reqires an activation key later on, no big deal, ill call windows, had similar situations happen before but today, i just dont have the key or the box, just the original CD.

    have you tryed geting a hold of microsoft? they should have a record of your version of windows
