i use my creative t6100 speakers and the onboard sound for my pc and my xbox 360 so i always unplug it then plug it back to my computer and every time i do this a pop up comes up saying i have connected a jack
but now realtek hd manger doesnt detect my speakers anymore and no sounds comes out

i have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers on the realtek website and system restores but it still doesnt work
the speakers are fine as i still use it for xbox 360
i tried some normal pc speakers earlier on my pc and it still doesnt work
    please help!

Does it work in any of the other ports? It may be that one of your jacks is faulty, which shouldn't be too much of a problem since you can assign any function to any of the jacks at the back of realtek sound cards. (If of course you only have a 3-jack version then you will lose one of your channels). If none of the jacks work, the controller on the motherboard may have failed, which means you will need to get a PCI sound card (it'll be cheaper than buying a new motherboard)

I had a SoundBlaster Audigy SE (PCI). Cheap, but perfectly satisfactory for my needs. I now use a USB sound card.

As easy as slotting it in, doing up one screw and putting a CD in the drive.
