Xbit Xecuter 2.6 No good for newer xbox ??

Hi

I have an old xbox, i have an xbit and an xecuter2.6, both are solderless pogo pins. i wanna use one of them on a newer xbox, but whereas my old xbox has the points on the board filled in so the pogo pins sit nicely the newer one does not, they are holes with a silver lining, can i fill these holes with solder to get my chip to connect properly or do i need a more modern chip??

For sure?? just fill each of those little holes with a bit of solder and my xbit or xecuter will work???

Why go to all the trouble of soldering up the holes to keep getting connection issues with the stupid pogo pins.. unreliable things...
