Purchasing a motherbaord, video card compatibility.

    I need to know if it would be a good idea to buy this board, Asus Crosshair, with an amd athlon fx.

    I am planing to use a nvidia geforce 6600 graphics card. It's a mac upgrade card but I'm told it should work. I just want to know for certain.

    As long as it's a PCI-E card it should work. Not sure on the Mac card compability though.

    Same story the CPU, as long as it's a socket AM2 model it should work with that mobo.

    Echoing those thoughts, the FX CPU will work if it's the right platform (AM2) However, I can't be certain about the 6600. Mac hardware is usually quite specific.
