Since changing to Mac, I've been using Handbrake to convert my DVD files to avi and it's been working superbly. However, I've not been able to find a program to convert avi to DVD files. I used to use ConvertXtoDVD and loved it. I thought it was really user friendly and everything, but it's for windows so I'm out of luck.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good, easy-to-use Mac alternative to ConvertXtoDVD? I'd prefer a free program (who wouldn't), but I don't mind paying as long as it's not too much.

    Thanks for you help.

    Thanks for the great response.
I took a look at all the software and i am a little confused. With all the software for converting avi to dvd Im wondering which is suitable for me. I saw that the software converts to mpeg2 which i dont know much about, but it does not play on the dvd players i use. I would like to convert to vob, the which appear under a folder vt_video and vt_audio. This is what works for me as I used to do it with my old and now dead windows machine. The software these days so much these days with the ipods and stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

    Hi,

I use VisualHub, it converts anything, iPod, Apple tv 5.1! Its not free, however, if you have a rapidshare acc or use torrents you may get lucky!

Roxio Toast can do this easily. (Be sure to install Perian too.)

    Ha Ha Ha Ha...

You can do this a lot easier.

Just use imovie hd and imovie 08 and idvd imovie hd opens the avi file converts it into i high def dv file then you open the dv in imovie 08 then transfer the video to idvd.

    Are you kidding, kid?

That's not easier than dragging 1 file onto 1 application (Toast).

    Hi everyone,

I have Roxio Toast 9 and I am wondering if anybody knows how to use it to convert avi to vob that appears under vt_video and vt_audio folders and runs on a dvd player. I have looked at all the files formats it converts avi to. Roxio Toast 9 looks good but I just cant find the option for this.

    Thanks

    Donuthead.
