I recently Installed A new P4 2.5 Ghz Processor for my Computer which previously was running on a Celeron 2.4ghz processor & now since i installed the new hardware it will not boot. The computer will respond to the power switch( ON & OFF). But It wont boot anything at all & cant even go into dos, no signal from the comp to my screen or anything. Anyone have any idea why this may have happened?
the motherboard might not be able to use a prescott dye intel cpu but can use a northwood dye cpu. i had that problem with my previous motherboard. there was no bios update to resolve that problem. what is the make & model# of the computer or motherboard?
