For people who still do not understand how to softmod your, here is a simple tutorialWarning,I am only showing you one way of doing this, there are other ways!!! 1.You need a Xbox action replay,a xbox memory card,a computer to memory card cable(Some action replay packages come with memory card and cable),access to internet, and a game of Mechassault ( not platinum hits!!). 2.Open the action replay file and go to the third coloum to the right and click on the online saves. After that, click on community saves. 3.Scroll down the community saves until you reach mechassault, then click on mechassault and you should see a bunch of , click and drag one of the to the middle coloum. 4.If you havent done so already, plug the memory card into the cable, then go to the middle coloum and scroll down to mechassault and click 5.Once you click on the mechassault you should see the you draged over. Click and drag the over to the far left coloum that says memory card at the top. 6. Once it is done loading, take the memory card out and plug it in the back of a Xbox controller. Then turn on your Xbox but make sure your disc tray is open so you can get to the Xbox menu. 7. In the main menu, go to memory and you should see a picture of a Xbox and a memory card. scroll to the memory card and hit A. Go down to Mechassalt and move over one to the , click A, and copy. 8. Once it is down, insert your mechassault game in the disc tray and close the disc tray. 9. Once the game has loaded and you are looking at the menu, click single player and sroll down the profiles until you see , after that just go to your run linux file and it will bring up a second screen telling you how far this profile got and its difficulty, just ignore it and hit OK 10. in a few seconds a new screen will pop up CONGRADULATIONS, you soft modded your Xbox, to learn what to do with it, you have to see other tutorials. Nice job but Just to let you know, Chunkhead did a tut like this with pictures I would like somone to cover this: 1) There are people (Such as myself) who do not own a DVD burner so they cannot use AID 2) Some people (like me) cannot use XBE shortcut creator because I keep getting an error message when I try launching it 3) The Wiki does not explain how to do this NOTE: I have been through the WIKI 3 times adn it doesn't explain how If some people (Like me) who cannot use any other alternative option, I think another tutorial that needs to be written is after you soft mod you're system WITH SID, on how exactly to configure XBMC to be launched as a Dashboard when you turn on your system
@ Dustin117 I appreciate the time you took to explain all of this, but the method you've described actually describes, well... not much! You've loaded the Softmodding screen, however you haven't even started the softmod process yet... The following sections can be quite difficult, depending on the Xbox itself, the options selected and the process needed to complete it successfully, in-depth tutorials are required! Sorry! @ tx3000 Try and stick to one thread with your problem! This is known as spamming and can get you banned!

The most I know what to do with a modded xbox is to turn it into a media center, the only problem is that I installed evox, and know I cant get back to my dashboard
Then edit your evox.ini file to have an entry for M$ dash.. which will be xboxdash or xodash.xbe so you can select it. For people who do not have a dvd burner... I can see troubles unless you get one pretty sharpish, lots of xbox drives refuse to have anything to do with cd-r... but don't panic.. there is one installer you can burn to a cd.. BonesX, by pirata (google for it) Unfortunately all the menus it will install are in Italian, and it is really for hardmods.. care needed with installing other dash systems, but it can be done.. better to stick with evox for default until you get to know your way around... and launch others as apps.. Some editing of evox.ini is in order yet again.
