im looking for a quiet solution heatsink and fan for a 3.0ghz core duo!

    any option that are at max $40? i want it quiet and cools better then stock?

    am i being to cheap with that 40 limit let me know!

    There are good and better solutions for cooling top end or overclocked CPUs.
    You can get one of these:

    They cool far better than the stock cooler, but are just as noisy unless you use Speedfan to reduce the fan speed.
    On the other hand if you can spend a bit more,
    get one of these

    with this 120mm fan

    This combination will work far better than either the stock cooler or the Freezer 7 Pro, and will be pretty much silent doing it, as well (25dB versus 40dB).
