    Hi,

I just bought the Toshiba 27HL85 27" Flat Panel HD-Ready LCD TV. This a a 720p tv. Now from what I understand, the p in 720p stands for progressive scan so I assume my tv supports it. However when I attached my Playstation 2 to the tv and tried playing games(Manhunt 2 and Hulk:Ultimate Destruction) that support progressive scan, the tv would not enter progressive scan mode.
To clarify the games I tried have an option in the menu to turn progressive scan on and off. When I tried turning it on the screen goes blank for about 5-10 seconds and when it turns back on the progressive scan is still off. I tried a few games so I figure it must be the tv or ps2, not the game. Also, I am using an RCA(red, white, yellow) cable.
So my question is what is the problem? is there some sort of setting on the tv or ps2 that I need to activate? do I need component cables for progressive scan to work? or is there some other problem I that I can't seem to fathom? thanks for any help you can give me

RCA is your problem. As far as I know, RCA goes as high as 480i (perhaps p, please correct me if I am wrong somebody), my suggestion is buying a set of quality component cables.
