I just built my first PC and I am not getting video at the moment. I got to the BIOS a few days ago before installing some components. I added the RAM and an 8800GT video card. Now when I plug the monitor into the onboard video of the motherboard or the DVI slot of the 8800GT with or without the DVI to VGA adapter I get a no signal message on the monitor. Can anyone help me with this? I can't install the drivers and things until I get video to install windows. Oh and the motherboard was VGA.

What power supply are you using?

I actually had some issues with that. I had a okia 400 watt initially. I ended up getting a VX 550 Watt corsair. I had problems fitting that into the case, but I got it in last night. I basically switched the PSU, added 2GB of RAM, and plugged in the 8800GT since the last time I ran the computer.

Oh, and the 8800GT is an overclocked model if that makes a difference.

Did you try and run the PC with the 8800GT installed using the Okia PSU? The PSU may have destroyed the graphics card. Okia PSUs aren't exactly top quality stuff.

No I did not. I am about to remove the PSU and see if I can get to the BIOS in which case I will just wait till I install windows to add the GPU. Hopefully that is the case. I will edit this post once I try that in the next 30 minutes or so.
