120Hz really that important?

Well I've been reading about 120Hz and how it eliminates the 3:2 pulldown, but does it really make that much of a difference? Like, the TVs with this are like $500+ then those without it of the same size(42"). If you know all about this, then please explain this to me(I know what the 120Hz is and everything, just explain the impact it makes)

    Thanks :)

120Hz gets rid of motion blur in the Flat-Panel LCD technology. Depending on its implementation it can also have the effects of better motion for 24fps movies and better contrast ratios via improved black levels.
