20 to 24 pin or will 20 work just fine ?

    So ok i came across this strange but interesting problem .....i have a mobo don't really matter whut type right now but is it true you can pluga 20 pin p/s connector into a 24 pin and it work just fine ?, because i looked in my manual and it does say it's possible but i heard advice from others it not advised , now you can but an adpator for it to so it's not like it wouldn't power it .......well just thought id ask before i fry something lol .

    yes you can plug a 20 pin psu into a 24 pin motherboard with no problem.

    thanks thats great because i was givin a generic PSU 450 watt with the 24 pin but last time i used something so cheapi heard crackling noise's right before my comp shut off on me so now im gonna use my 500 that i have ....but thank's again DDP !
