Hello, last night I tried to shut down my PC and the screen went blank and the DVD/RW started making sounds like it was trying to open over and over and I ended up giving up and manually shutting it down. This morning when I tried to turn it on I was getting the same sounds and a blank screen. I tried manually opening the DVD/RW but it closed itself again and started making the noise. Any help would be grand! thank you!
The DVD drive is making that noise because the PC is perpetually rebooting (upon reboot, DVD drives always make a physical check to see if there's a CD in the drive, that's where the noise is coming from). Have you added any hardware to your PC recently?
no I havnt added anything new since I bought it (about 5 months ago) but it is fixed now for some reason when I unplugged it and plugged it back in it worked fine
