I have 2 Nintendo Wi-Fi adapters which i turned into softaps, 1 is installed on a computer WITH the internet and the other is installed on a computer WITHOUT internet. Is there a way where i can get the computer with the internet to send the signal out to the other computer without the internet via both of the Wi-Fi dongles. Last time a asked this i got a link to a post with this title, Tutorial - Make Your Nintendo Wifi USB Connector A SoftAP and its waaaaay to confusing for me!! so pleaseeee tell me in a way i can understand
i think it is something to do with sharing your connection through windows. in the wireless options of the dongle with internet, tick share internet connection and see where that takes you.
Thanks, but... nup, it wont work. But im picking up sombody wirless netgear and im able to connect to the internet for free with that. Is it legal cuz i dont wanna be getting illegal internet thx
lol it's their problem not yours, you can do wateva you want and they'll get the blame!!! na, lol better be good... but score free internet even better! i think you best get yourself a cheap wireless router to allow both dongles to connect.
wireless router is the better option as you don't know how long you'll have that free signal. also you do have net already so why waste it.
only thing the person with the free internet can do is put an encryption and kill your free internet the wifi adapter is picking up. wireless router is the best thing. you have the option to load third party firmware so you can increase your wireless range; cooling fans/heatsinks should be added before cranking up the signal. also, you'll have the ability to connect to the internet anywhere in your house, not just the two computers.
Well we have a little black box (noob, Still dont know what a router is) but i doesnt have the little airial stickin aout the back. is there a way at all to get the wifi adapters to just connect to each other, the to computer are about 4-5 metres away thx
it may be a router or a switch but unless the computers are both near it or you have a really long Lan cable i suggest you pick up a wireless router. the little black box may not even be a router. if it is just a basic swicth it won't give every computer a network adress for the internet any ways. dongles are a really SH*T way to connect to the internet anyways, if your serious about making a proper home network i suggest you get proper equipment starting with a wireless router if you want wireless. your dsl/cable modem will plug into the wireless routers uplink and then you can configure it to send out wireless to all your dongles. some routers also come with added lan ports for physical connections, this is a nice handy add on.
is your phone line plugged into it or a cable going into a wall? that would usually be a good indicator of it being a modem.
