guys I am having a problem with a very noisy Power Supply. What could be the course of that? First there was no such problem, it started it recently. Its ATX 250watts.

It depends, it may be a faulty fan, or the PSU may just be full of dust. If you replace it, make sure you buy a quality unit, not just any old power supply.

sometimes noises appear to be from the computer when in fact they are from the POWER (surge protector) BAR

Before doing a whole bunch of stuff check the power bars

I dont know what its called when it does that but there is a know name for it

I had that once and thought it was from the monitor for the longest time

let us know the results & good luck

The power brick for one of my external hard drives likes to make a whistle from time to time, what sort of noise does it make?
If it's a loud grinding noise, or a relatively low smooth noise, it's probably to do with the fan. If it's a high pitched whining noise, it's probably the electronics.
