How important is contrast ratio for lcd tvs. I was looking at sone Vizio hdtvs and while all the specs seemed good the contrast ratio was 1500: 1 on most models. What does this mean in terms of picture quality? I plan to use the tv for PS3 gaming.
Contrast ratio is whiteness/blackness , the bigger the better. However anything at 1500:1 and greater is good enough, especially for games.
