will somebody help me how to solve this problem. i can't play downloaded movies rip in xvid format. i am using windows media player 11. though i tried to download xvid codec but still i can't play it. instead a note will appear ... "windows media player cannot play the file, the Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file". the movie that i have downloaded was the Beowulf 2007 DVDrip Xvid-DIAMOND (i downloaded it from BITTORENT. GSpot Drag the AVI on to GSpot and try to see which codec it needs and if it's installed on the PC. In the example, the codec is XviD and it's installed. You can also try to play the file using the buttons. http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/GSpot270a.zip VLC should be able to play the file, it has its own codecs built in. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
i downloaded VLC media player as what you have suggested, but still i can't play said xvid movies. to let you know, i have already installed k lite pack long before together with windows media player 11 which is my default player. pls. help, thanks!
