I jumped in and bought an Aqious sharp 42 full 1080p hdtv for £600 from Macro - now I'm wanting to add surround sound. There is only a two channel output on the back of the tv!? Do I really have to go to the expense of another receiver to get this? Can't I simply connect a 5.1 or 7.1 sound system to this?

    Many thanks.

If you use the 2-channel output then you really wouldn't be getting the true 5.1 sound. All you would get is 2-channel stereo and nothing else. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.
