I recently bought this monitor http://www.bestbuy.com/site//olspage.jsp?id=1188561324689&skuId=8553326&type=product and I am looking to upgrade my graphics card to make the most of its features I currently have a RADEON X600 256MB HyperMemory Do you think that this card will work well with my new monitor, or should I upgrade? If so, to what? thanks
There will be no compatibility issues with that monitor, however your graphics card is very slow to be running things like games at that high resolution. It's worthwhile upgrading if you play any games, and if you wish to watch HD video.
yeah, I do both of those things (a lot) any suggestions on what I should upgrade to? maybe something in the $200 range
One of the best cards you can buy right now is an HD3870. If that's a bit too much, try for something like an X1950 Pro or an 8600GTS. If you have Vista and play DX10 games, go for the latter as it supports them. If you still run XP, go with the X1950 Pro, it's faster.
