Pretty soon I may be getting a new Laptop. A Dell Inspiron 1520. I was wondering if the specs I'd be getting would make it in the gaming world. I was hoping to run Call of Duty 4 and maybe Gears of War on it. Here are the specs: Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7250 (2MB cache/2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB) Memory: 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 Dimm HDD: 250G 5400RPM SATA HDD Graphics Card: 256MB NVIDIA ®GeForce™8600M GT Optical Drive: 8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) Operating System: Windows Vista (Home Premium Edition) LCD Display: Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280 x 800) For the LCD Display, I will be mostly using my 1080p HDTV hooked up via VGA so that's why I didn't update the screen res. Thats the exact same specification that i ordered last night , only i opted for the default 160gb hdd From what i've read it can handle most game very well considering it wasnt built as a "gaming" laptop. The 8600M GT is quite easy to overclock apparently too, though i wouldnt reccomend it .
That laptop will be able to handle COD4, although not at top settings. As a gaming laptop it'll do OK.
ordered that exact laptop for my aunt a few weeks ago. its a good laptop, but i havent tried gamming on it, since it wasnt for me. =P im sure it can play medium quality for COD4.
Okay that's good to hear. I don't really need to dish out the cash to put it on very high settings.. after all I still have my PS3. Is the processor a good choice?
