Hi all need a little bit of help.. First off i dont realy understand the way these boxes work unlike the Starview!! Im in Dublin using N**hell So from reading this forum about these boxes, i have downloaded Dreamup-V1.3.1.0 and Gemini_410_Dm500_2310200 image file. Now the problem i am having is, i have connected my Dreambox to my pc using a 9pin crossover null modem cable, opened the Dreamup programe, picked the com port, pressed connect and nothing it just says "connection prepared, now switch on Dreambox" wich i have done over and over again. So i have some questions 1. Are these boxes worth the hasstle? 2. Is the programe im using the right one? 3. Is the image file a good one to use? 4. When i done my first scan i got all the programes but when i change channels it's slow for the next channel to come through and when they come in after 3 mins the picture goes all blockey.. Finaly is it true that you can use these boxes with S*y or is it a fairytale.. Thank you in advance.. Kpreston
You have to use a real nullmodem cable with crossed wires. A serial cable with 1:1 wired cables is not working.
