    Hi there,

I am new to this forum.

Certain mp3 files I have downloaded come with .cue files (whole albums) with some files Nero fails to open the .cue file.

This is frustrating as I want to access individual tracks rather than one file for the album as a whole....

    Can anyone help?

If you want to access an individual track.... and you downloaded a bunch of mp3 files and a CUE file then um... why dont you just access the files? Why would you be messing with the CUE file in the first place?

I am not messing with the cue file - some files I have d/l are complete albums as ONE mp3 file so when I play the file I cannot skip tracks. I can only skip through it until I find the track I want - this is especially annoying in the car or on a portable mp3 player.

The .cue file is supposed to provide track info so that the mp3 file can be burnt as a cd and the tracks split as originally intended...

    Can anyopne help!?

Yes. Don't use buggy software, don't use Nero.

    You have several more programs.
The best for this task, if your burner is supported, is Feurio!
Feurio CD-Manager -> Project -> Create project from cuesheet file.
    http://www.feurio.com/English/cd_writer.shtml

You also have EAC, Burnatonce, CDRWin...

The best thing i could suggest is if you use nero WaveEditor to manually split the file into the separate songs. Bit of a ball ache but it's the only way ive managed to solve this as i prefer to use Nero for my copying.

    a Wave Editor for that?
    That makes no sense.
If the disc has no gaps, then you'll lose that property and small gaps will appear or some samples will be lost.

In that case, use the "Split" function you have in the properties of the track.
It will cut in the correct places in order not to create gaps.

Anyway, there are programs that can do this job fine, and that have a better burning engine than Nero, like Feurio!
CDRWin and EAC can also burn that kind of CUE+MP3.
