External Hard Drive

    Is it a bad idea to leave me external hard drive plugged in and running all the time, I don't think it has a sleep feature, but it does have a power switch.

    Not really, assuming you can live with the noise. If anything hard drives live longer left on 24/7 than powered on and off regularly. This of course assuming they're not overheating. As long as you use a decent enclosure that won't be an issue.

    Thanks, its a WD Elements 500GB, doesn't seem to get too hot and its pretty quiet compared to some of the other ones I've heard, thanks for all your help.
