    Hi,
I just recieved a Iomega 7200 RPM 320 GB external Hrd Drive. My question is it better to put programs on the external drive or my
    internal 80 GB Drive.

Thanks For All the Help Everyone..

Install every program or game to your internal, external drives are slower since they have to pass through USB then to a controller, and finally the HDD. And I believe your USB contorller card is probably a lower speed than the one on your motherboard. IE: ATA 33; ATA 100; ATA 133, and if you have a SATA internal, then IDE cant compare.

For slightly beter performance pull that external out of its enclosure, throw it inside your case and move the page file to that drive. But at that point, youll see much beter performance if you just upgrade your ram.

In plain english, the Internal hard drive is much faster (at least double the speed). By all means install stuff to the external, but not if it's large, or it will take quite some time to load.
