So, I've ordered the Datel SD Media Launcher for the Gamecube after reading the guide on booting backups with it through GCOS. I have all the necessary files and have read up on it, but I need some help getting the blank media.

I've read that the Ritek Ridata G04 mini DVD-R is reliable, and have found a site that seems to have a good price for it, meritline.com, has anyone ordered from them before? I've been scammed before and would prefer to avoid doing so in the future. :p

I've never bought from meritline.com but I have bought from supermediastore.com and had very good experience.
You might want to check them out as they have free shipping on like everything.

Some members here have used meritline but I too prefer supermediastore.com. Another good one is rima.com - sometimes cheaper then supermediastore.
I use sms and rima quite a bit so you should be good with either.
